Mrs. Deanna L. Wright
Mrs. Wright, a native of Southern California, relocated with her family to Henderson, Nevada, in June 1999. Mrs. Wright and her husband, Jason, were married in July 1991 and have two children who are attending CCSD schools. After her high school graduation in 1989 she transitioned to Fullerton College to study Travel and Tourism later working as a travel agent. Prior to her election to the Board, Mrs. Wright was an active parent volunteer working on issues such as zoning, school safety, school start times, small schools committee, the Reflection art program, and standard student attire. Mrs. Wright has served many years in the Cub Scout program through her church.
Trustee Wright is serving as Board Clerk. She is the board liaison to the American Education Week Committee, Sex Education Advisory Committee, and the Attendance Zone Advisory Committee. In the past, she has served as liaison to the School Board Student Advisory Committee and the Clark County Parks and Recreation Committee.
Mrs. Wright and her family enjoy ocean sports such as snorkeling, boating and playing on the beach. She also enjoys photography, scrapbooking, board games and family vacations.
Trustee Wright believes adamantly that education is the foundation for Nevada's future. She believes that the mission of the Clark County School District is that all children will graduate prepared for work, trade school, or college. She will continue to work on securing more dollars for education, while continuing to work at a policy level to improve and reform the school district.
