What responsible people say:

  • “I’ll take care of that for you. By when do you need it done?”

  • I’ll be home at 5:00. If I have a problem, I’ll call you.”

  • We can’t do that. It’s against the rules.”

  • May I have a snack? I’d like an apple.”

  • My things are neatly organized so I can find they quickly.”

What responsible people do:

  • Can be depended on to do as they say.

  • Do what they promise to do.

Cartwright's character trait

of the month is...

Responsibility

Cartwright Elementary is the first elementary school in Nevada to adopt the Soul Shoppe program.  Soul Shoppe is a social/emotional program that originated in California and it teaches students conflict resolution skills, confidence building, and social skills. Daniel Bruno, our Soul Shoppe facilitator, has visited Cartwright seven times throughout the course of this school year. During these visits, Daniel has taught workshops to all students and teachers by grade level. Students have learned valuable strategies and skills that they can use for life such as the "I" Message, the Clean-Up, and Stop & Breathe. Soul Shoppe has become an integral part of the Cartwright foundation.
